Terms of Service

1. Account Registration and Eligibility

To use account-based features of the Services, you must register using Google OAuth or an email verification code (magic code / magic link). You may enable optional authenticator-based two-factor authentication (TOTP) on your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure.

You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or the business entity you represent.

You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including activity by invited organization or team members and activity performed with API keys you create. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorized use.

Organization and team features allow multiple authorized users to access a shared workspace through invited memberships. Sharing a single login credential with others is not permitted; each person must use their own invited account where team access is available.

2. Description of Services

ZeroHook provides an email deliverability and DNS security monitoring platform, including domain audits, security scoring, compliance-oriented reporting (including NIS2, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 related checks), blacklist monitoring, continuous monitoring jobs, exports, white-label reporting where your plan allows, and copy-paste DNS fix guides. Public free tools and one-off public audits may query publicly available DNS and related internet data for domains you submit without creating an account.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Services at any time, without any liability to you.

3. Payment, Billing, Trials, and Refunds

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe. Prices are listed in USD and are subject to change. We will provide reasonable notice of any price changes before they take effect. By subscribing, you authorize us (and Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use continuous monitoring, alerting, or account-linked audits on domains you do not own or lack explicit authorization to monitor (public free tools that query public DNS records for a domain you enter are permitted for informational lookups)
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Services in an unauthorized manner
• Use the Services to conduct or facilitate any illegal activity
• Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or abuse prevention mechanisms
• Share your personal login credentials with third parties
• Resell or sublicense access to the Services without our prior written consent
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services or infrastructure

5. API Keys and Automations

Certain plans allow you to create API keys for programmatic access. You are responsible for safeguarding every key issued to your account, rotating or revoking keys you no longer need, and all requests made with those keys. Treat API keys as secrets. Do not embed them in public client-side code or share them outside your authorized organization.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

We make no warranty or representation that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time; or that audit results, security scores, or compliance reports are accurate, complete, or up-to-date. Furthermore, ZeroHook does not warrant that the Services will meet your requirements or expectations. You acknowledge that the Services may contain bugs or errors, and you assume the entire risk as to the results and performance of the Services.

7. Limitation of Liability

In any case, our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the total amount you paid to ZeroHook in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. If you have not made any payments, our total liability shall not exceed $10 (ten US dollars).

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ZeroHook and its operator from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Services or violation of these Terms
• Your monitoring or auditing of domains you did not have authorization to monitor
• Any decisions made or actions taken by you or any third party based on the audit results, DNS recommendations, or fix guides provided by the Services
• Your API keys or automation integrations
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Any claim by a third party arising from your use of the Services

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, functionality, software, and design elements of the Services are the exclusive property of ZeroHook and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of the domain data and information you submit to the Services. By using the Services, you grant ZeroHook a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to process this data for the purpose of delivering the Services to you, and to use aggregated and anonymized data derived from your use of the Services (including but not limited to audit results, scan history, and feature usage) for product improvement, statistical analysis, research, and the publication of general market insights, provided such data cannot be linked back to you or your specific domains.

10. Termination and Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent or abusive behavior. You may delete your account from account settings, subject to any legal retention obligations and the process implemented in the product.

11. Modifications to the Services and Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hungary, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If no resolution is reached within 30 days, the dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Hungary.

13. General Provisions

• Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ZeroHook regarding the Services.
• Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
• No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
• Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent.
• Force Majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control.
