About ZeroHook

Security shouldn't cost more than your server.

ZeroHook is the first affordable email, DNS, and compliance automation platform built for growing SaaS companies and SMBs. We bridge the gap between simple DNS infrastructure and enterprise risk management. Making complex security standards accessible to everyone.

A lone figure looking out over a vast landscape of corporate towers. The journey of building ZeroHook
Our Story

How ZeroHook Started

ZeroHook started with a 17-year-old staring at his own domain's DNS settings, having no idea what SPF or DKIM even meant. Once I figured it out, I asked around. A few connections on LinkedIn were struggling with the exact same thing. Not just individuals, but people running real businesses. The tools that existed either told you something was broken without explaining how to fix it, or cost $20,000+ a year. Priced for Fortune 500 companies, not for people actually trying to get things done.

As a Purple Team security researcher with hands-on experience in penetration testing, I knew exactly how attackers exploit misconfigured DNS and email settings. I'd seen what happens when these basics are ignored. And I knew fixing them didn't have to be complicated or expensive.

So I learned everything I could about email security, DNS hardening, and compliance frameworks. Then I built the tool I wished had existed: one that not only finds the problems, but gives you the exact record to copy and paste into your DNS settings. Fixed in 5 minutes, not 3 weeks. ZeroHook was my answer to an industry that forgot about the rest of us.

How We Work

Small team, big responsibility.

We're a small team right now. That means everyone does everything: And that's how we like it.

Everyone wears many hats

The person who writes the code also talks to customers. The person who designs the UI also understands DNS records. No silos, no hand-offs.

We fix, not just find

Every other tool tells you something is broken. We tell you exactly how to fix it. Copy-paste DNS records, step by step. That's the whole point.

Speed over perfection

We'd rather ship something 90% complete and learn from it than plan for months and ship something already outdated. Iteration beats perfection.

Remote, always

We hire from anywhere. No office, no time zone walls. Results matter, not hours online. Async-first, written communication.

Our Values

What we actually believe in.

Not a corporate values deck. Just things we've learned the hard way.

Give a sh*t

We care about our users. Not as metrics, but as people trying to protect their businesses. If someone writes to us, a real person answers. Not a bot, not a ticket queue.

Look in the mirror

When something breaks, we don't blame the infrastructure. We look at what we did wrong and fix it. Honest self-reflection is the only way to build something that lasts.

Choose courage over comfort

If a feature isn't working, we cut it. If a decision was wrong, we reverse it. We don't cling to our own ideas just because we had them.

Say it plainly

We write in plain language. In our product and in our communication. DNS is complicated enough. Our job is to make it simple, not to sound smart.

The 5-minute rule

If a fix takes longer than 5 minutes to understand, we haven't done our job. Every recommendation we give should be actionable immediately.

Security is the product

We're not adding security as a feature checkbox. The entire product exists to make security accessible to organizations that can't afford enterprise tools.

The Team

Small team. Every role.

ZeroHook is built by a small, focused team. Founder, developer, designer, support, and everything in between.

What We Believe

A few things that won't change.

Every organization deserves DNS security. Not just the ones with $20,000/year budgets.

The best security tool is the one you actually use. Not the one that sits on a shelf because it's too complicated.

Compliance shouldn't be a luxury. NIS2, SOC2, ISO 27001. These are real requirements that affect real businesses.

Copy-paste fixes work. Not everyone is a DNS expert, and they shouldn't have to be.
